How long have you been at Winter Session?

Hard to believe, but it's been almost four and a half years!

How did you discover Winter Session?

My friend from undergrad, Sam Pike, was interviewing Roy & Tanya for a podcast and I tagged along.  I loved it so much, I asked them a few days later if I could work there!

How did you discover Winter Session?
My fiancée Whitney works here. She showed me the shop back when it was on Welton.

What did your day look like today?
Shipping web orders, stitching wallets, making leather parts, photo editing

How did you discover Winter Session?
They were located around the corner from my husband’s bike shop, Chocolate Spokes Bike Studio

Calm energy

What’s your favorite thing about working here?

I love all the steps in the process of building a bag, BUT the atmosphere and community of my co-workers is the best I’ve ever experienced!

What are your favorite WS products to make?

The good ol’ Garrison (it’s the first bag I learned how to make) and stitching wallets (it’s meditative).

How did you discover Winter Session?

Right after graduating from college, through my dad who works in product design.

I bought a sandwich from Tifamade at her pop up in the old WS shop.

How did you discover Winter Session? 

My friend Kimberly brought me in with her to get a sandwich one day when WS used to have Sandwich Day with Tifamade.

What’s your favorite thing about working here? 

The people! I also love being able to work with my hands and be a part of making beautiful products.

A typical day for you starts with...
Waking up a bit too early (too many early mornings in the coffee industry have ruined me), watering my plants, and getting a beautiful mug full of coffee from the good folk of Purple Door Coffee before I walk across to the Outpost.

Tell us about your life and adventures outside of Winter Session…
Outside of my part-time job at Winter Session, I work full-time as a grants specialist with a local nonprofit, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. I am also out in our beautiful Colorado mountains as much as possible with my partner, Joel (now another awesome WS employee!) and our cute pup, Marley Jo. I am also often found baking sweet treats for friends (and WS events!), and when I can find the time, love a trip to a local coffee shop for some quality time with a cortado and a good book.

Tell us about your life and adventures outside of Winter Session…
I spend a lot of time on the road playing music with the band Paper Bird. I am the drummer. I also play in the bands Eye and the Arrow, Pine Barrens, Papa Bear and occasionally accompany Patrick Dethlefs and Stelth Ulvang. I also run a storytelling podcast called The Smallest Bone, and am a freelance videographer. I like to be outside - camping, fishing, hiking, swimming - and have eaten far too many breakfast burritos in my twenty-five years on this planet.
